Health Insurance – Who is the best value please

Hi all,

I have had a family plan plus policy with VHI for years (previously on Plan b options). However it os costing almost 3K each year for myself, hubbie and 4 children (1 infant so free this year!).

Does anyone know of an equivalent or similar health insurance policy with another company, which is cheaper or better value.

Im the same 2 Adults and 2 kids with Quinn (Bupa) and its 4 euro shy of 2k 😯 😯 😯
Fed up paying it to be honest, not as if we have private hospitals up here… we only have OLOL or travel up to Dublin…… If you find any bargains let me know

Same ball park here.

But just want to say,
my son got sick last year, and the care is the same public or private. But having health insurance it was the compagny who paid (we received the summary of what they paid) the hospital, instead of the taxpayers.

The budget is under pressure (not going to comment what they’re doing), but it helps is those who can afford (like us even if it’s less and less!!!) health insurance have it, otherwise it’s even more expense for hospitals on taxpayers lack of money.

DH is accountant – has looked into it (at length and with more spreadsheets than I care to admit) and says VHI best value all round. vague, I know, but HTH.

Posters right – care is same, but who receives bills is the diff. No private care here really to speak of. I miss The Portland when it comes to getting out of your car through the exhaust I have to say… (that’s my analogy for what it’s like giving birth, btw, and no, I have never given birth in The Portland, only avin a larf, gals!)

Agree that there isn’t (or at least shouldn’t be) any difference in care between private and public…the difference is the waiting times. It’s unfair but true.
