I know we kind of talked about this last year … just to see if there is much interest in 2008?

    A Mumstown Float?

    Any ideas? Any volunteers?

Great idea…….in england we have a carnival every year, with a parade and I grew up being in it each year……all our neighbours would get together and enter a float…..it was the best fun and gives me wonderful memories…… we always did themes, such as Sound of Music, Snow White, Can Can girls, Indians, Spanish flamenco dancers…..I could go on and on as I said did it every year…..I think dressing up as some friendly characters would be great for all the children who watch the parade……..my mum always made all the costumes, so costumes can be made ourselves cheap enough……

I thought the parade last year In Drogheda was fantastic……..

    ‘Wonderwoman’

You are right. The church are celebrating St Patrick’s Day on Saturday because 17th March is at the start of holy week. The parade committee are however holding the parade on Monday.

Your right wonderwoman, the church have moved st Patricks mass to Saturday rather then Monday as the church cant celebrate extra masses inside holy week (this goes for funerals too)
But the party and drinking is all still on Monday.
