April 3, 2010 at 12:50 am #92987Taylor5Memberyes the townhouse is lovely… only a new venture and i just picked up the booklet and was going to post it up on mt. Looks amazing!
Will be ringing on Tuesday to see what they have on offerApril 3, 2010 at 10:19 am #92991hjsMemberI have heard great things about it, am mad to try that treatment!
April 7, 2010 at 2:13 pm #93091shakeyMemberI was reading an article about it in the paper at the weekend and I’m sorry to say, it definitely put me off the thought of it…I won’t post what it said here but if you’re anyway squemish and you know what happens during it you won’t want it… Def look into what happens during it before considering it. (Also apparently it is banned in a lot of states in US and they are trying to do the same in the UK!)
April 7, 2010 at 8:07 pm #93116beamsMemberIs this where they have little fish in a tank of water that eat the dry skin from your feet as you sit there with your feet in the water ?? 😯
April 7, 2010 at 8:53 pm #93118Taylor5MemberShakey will you post the link or tell us about it….please! Thats what this site is for
April 8, 2010 at 2:01 pm #93142shakeyMemberI can’t find the link at the moment – will look at home this evening. It was in the Sunday Times and basically it said the fish are meant to be replaced after each person but most places are not doing this as it’s too expensive. And that the fish actually nick your skin and there can be cross contamination from previous clients unless there is a new batch of fish for each person…
There was more that I can’t think of at the moment but def the whole article make me feel a bit queasy…April 8, 2010 at 3:18 pm #93147JedtKeymasterMy sister and aunt had this done at the RDS Fashion & Beauty event last week. Not for me, I didn’t like the look of it…
Basically you put your hands and/or feet in the tank, with all the little fish and the fish ate the dead skin off them.
It was not pleasant to look at. My sister said it felt kind of ticklish but was not painful. The thing that turned me off (apart from the little fish eating the dead skin, yuk 😕 ) was that other peoples dead skin was also in the tank too.
Not my idea of a relaxing treatment. If I want my feet done, I head to Tranquility in Bryanstown and have them exfoliated, massaged and moisturised – much more my idea of a treat!
But each to their own 😮 😮
April 8, 2010 at 4:01 pm #93151hjsMemberGod I’m not that squeamish! Have given birth twice, what could be more testing an ordeal than that!?
Wouldn’t bother me the not changing fish thing or other people’s dead skin lark – not bothered by that kinda thing, after all, God knows what we swim in and swallow when in the sea on sunny summer hols in Spain or the like – I’m just like that.
Will post when have had it done in next week or so…
April 8, 2010 at 4:57 pm #93157Taylor5MemberFeeding the fish at home makes me wanna vomit… dont like fish at all. But did talk to an old friend today who had it done on fair street and she said her feet have never been as soft and all the dead hard skin was gone
April 8, 2010 at 9:06 pm #93177AlmaeMemberI am going to get this done before i go on hols , they will love my feet :):)

April 9, 2010 at 9:06 am #93186beamsMemberO yuk – what if someone has something nasty on their feet – veruca, athletes foot etc…… don’t think it sounds the most hygienic 😕 😕
April 9, 2010 at 9:08 am #93187munchinParticipantoh yuck – each to their own and all that but i’m a bit like taylor – they was nearly panic in our house last night when i was trying to clean the blooming gold fish – was trying to catch it and the friggin thing jumped i almost dropped it 😀 now can you imagine my 3yr old when the fish is flapping on the ground cause i sure as hell wouldn’t be picking it up 😀 😀 😀
be interested to hear what it’s like but most definitely not for me!!!!!!!!April 9, 2010 at 1:17 pm #93202happymumblemumParticipantOh how horrid…………………………….
For the poor fish
April 10, 2010 at 7:59 pm #93268hjsMemberI can’t wait – am gonna go this week sometime.
The fish can go hang, utterly dispensible creatures, like most animals IMO!
