Happymammy
MemberHi girls
For anyone suffering with Hyperemesis Gravidarium (spelling!) Google
http://www.bloomingawful It is an excellent website for mums etc coping with severe nausea and vomiting etc etc etc.October 9, 2007 at 2:42 pm #41249Happymammy
MemberThe tips etc on how to cope are great. Its also good if you wanted to print it off and give to somebody you know trying to cope with it. Im sick of feeling like im making a mountain out of a molehill to people when this is a medical condition and there is so many women out there going through the same thing and feel like they dont want to moan too much about it to people because alot think its all in their own head!!

MemberNobody has replied only yourself taylor. I suppose i must me the only one who has suffered with this. They reckon 2 in 100 women have it in their pregnancies still though the website is very helpful with lots of tips etc something which i found very hard to find. The usual ginger biscuits and 7up where just not working for me. It can get to the point where homehelp has to get involved and put you on a drip daily. Thank god mine is not the severe form but i pity women who have to deal with this. On my first DD i have to be hospitalised twice. Its passing now for me but for some women they go as far as termination because they cant cope. How sad is that. There is just not enough information about it on hand. Thanks for the reply anyway hun as always 😀

MemberHi HMM
Im feeling alot better than the past 12 weeks i tell ya. I dont think i will be having any more babies after this one! Being so sick has put so much pressure on my relationship and on running my business! There was days i couldnt even get out of bed to look after my DD! So never again are my famous last words !!!!!! But i did loose over a stone and a half so i can put that back on without feeling any guilt for the next 6 months!!Thanks for asking hun, how are you dong?? 😀October 17, 2007 at 11:06 am #42774noeleenw
Memberhi there i am 10 weeks and have felt like s**te for the last 4 weeks , people come up with loads of suggestions but i dont know what is best , i was fine one day last week and thought maybe it was passing but had it twice as bad the next day 👿 Hoping it will get better soon , i must nearly have a share in gaviscon and strawberry milkshakes !!!

MemberHi hun
If i had any remedies that i thought would help i would give them but nothing worked for me. If you are holding down the milkshakes thats excellent!
Well done, I was vomiting up my own saliva sorry Too much information!! 😳
7up and toast is really all that would help with the hungry nausea feeling. Eating every hour a little at a time helps too. As long as you are keeping down fluids then thats enough for the baby. The hospital would have to put you on a drip if you werent. I was in for a week on DD and beleive me its not nice so get as much milkshakes etc into you.
Plenty of rest, and fresh air. If smells are a real problem then dont spray anything just have a hanky with some lemon oil on it to in breath in it cuts the bad odour straight away. Im sorry i dont have any other rescue remedies for it. I really do hope they invent some sort of anti nausea vomiting pill very soon!!!!!!!!! It does pass for alot of girls, im starting to feel better mainly in the afternoons i can eat my dinner and keep it down i also have more energy to get things done.
Heres to the next 6 months!!!!! 😆 😆October 17, 2007 at 11:44 am #42781happymumblemum
Participantwell in the olden days they had invented an anti sickness pill and we all know how that ended up…the name was thalidomide. 🙁
i am in flying form happy thanks 😆 mind you i arent throwing up every five mins 😯
a girl i knew years ago spent nearly all her preg in hospital with the condition you mentioned….. it would certainly make me say never again 😀 if that happened to me.i am afraid i was very lucky and never vomited once throuhout the whole preg….i dare not get preg again as i just know i wouldnt be so lucky 😆
get as much rest as is at all poss happy

MemberI did read about that pill very bad damages to the baby etc etc. I know its wishful thinking but hopefully by the time my daughter plans on having children i really hope she doesnt suffer with it as it is passed on apparently. 🙂

MemberHappy my mothers neighbour (back in the 60’s) took thalidomide and her baby was born with no arms, she did get a settlement years later and her daughter is a total nut and great to be around, he horserides and all into extreme sports….. it never held her back.
So I dont think any drug company would be rushing to make a antisickness drug for pregnant woman again, we live and learn.Did you try the magnetic sickness bands? You know the ones like a tennis band but for travel sickness. We would sell tonnes of them to pregnant woman.

Memberhi happymammy. i feel your pain!i was fine on 1st preg. but number 2 was a different story 🙁 16weeks of it!! and it literally started from conception iykwim!i thought i had a stomach bug. ev1 kept saying it was too early for morning sickness. anyway it was a horrible time and my poor ds and dh didnt get a look in at all that summer.my ds was just over one and he would immitate me wretching. he thougt it great fun.lucky i could just tolerate some fluid. i genuinely dont think any of the remedies work just have to putup. i can understand why it can send people into depths of depression.anyway i really hope ur feeling better soon 😉
