    I know my ds and dd are altar servers- they get €5 each for different Church functions…

    I rem – getting book tokens for the priests…

    Hi everyone,
    I was just wondering if anybody knows what an acceptable amount is to give the church as a donation for a christening? I also don’t know if there’ll be altar servers that we will be expected to give something to as well 😕
    Our christening will be in June and I’m working out our budget for everything.

    i think we gave 50e, i cant remember…. i asked the women in St Marys and they said "give what you can afford"

    We had a private Christening for our first, due to wanting a particular date, so we gave the priest €150 as he was doing us a special favour. Second Christening we were with 5 other families so we gave €50.

    I think any donations will do for churches. They don’t ask for a specific amount because it is best that what ever you donate comes from your heart.. 🙂
