I was delighted when I won the competition for the two night break in the Carlton Shearwater Ballinasloe!
We booked in from Sunday to Tuesday over the bank holiday last month. Was a nice drive over, just over two hours and the hotel was easy to find. When we booked in, our room wasn’t ready but we made our way to the pool with the kiddies, wasn’t many there and we had a lovely time.
Got checked into our room and booked the kiddies into the kids club for the Monday. We just had dinner in the bar – as the restaurant was full!
Kids club was on 9-12 and 5-10pm – they took the kids and we went off for our breakfast, lovely but strange on our own haha! In the afternoon we went into Galway which was only 40 mins away too. Came back for the second half of the kids club, our DD wouldn’t go there wasn’t really any her age. But DS went without a blink! He loved every minute of it, they got a three course dinner, played mini Olympics and watched a movie and had popcorn. The kids club is payable at €15 for the 1st child and €13 for the second child.. well worth it, when you factor in the cost for dinner and its nice to have some time together too!
Overall, would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning!
We’re delighted you had such a nice time, we hope to have many more prizes to giveaway in future.
