Was coming home from my friend’s house in Dundalk yesterday and all of a sudden, we could see black smoke billowing up ahead. As we drove on we could see a car ablaze on the side of the motorway, near Ardee exit.

There was only one gardai car there at the time and as we drove past the car, there were sparks flying off inside of it. The heat from it was so powerful, it was horrible driving past it, the kids were terrified.

It must have just happened, as we passed the fire engines on their way further down the road. Just wondering if anyone knows what happened?

I was surprised we were able to just drive past, it seemed very dangerous and looked like it was going to explode. Awful to see something like that on a main road on our way home from a child’s birthday party.
