Special Olympics Ireland has launched their fundraising campaign for 2009.
Are you living in Co. Meath?
Would you be interested in hosting a fundraiser or volunteering your time?
Special Olympics Ireland changes lives. It is first and foremost for individuals with an intellectual disability, but more than that it’s about fun, friendship, team spirit and community involvement for all.

When people in Ireland think of the Special Olympics they think back to that wonderful time in 2003 when Ireland hostd the world games. The next world games is in Athens in 20011 but in order to get there athletes are doing their stuff every day, every week all year. There are local, regional events taking place throughout Ireland and the all Ireland qualifiers are next year. At the moment there is a team from Ireland competing in the Special Olympics World Winter games in Idaho, USA. …….but in answer to your question special Olympics is every day. I know Emer well. Navan RFC are running a fundraiser on behalf of special olympics Ireland on Saturday so I will be out with the Celebrity team and ten SO athletes raising much needed funds! It will be major craic as there is a full day of action planned with tag rugby, biig serious rugby league game after that with a tug of war between celebs and S/O at half time followed by raffle in club house for two tickets for Oasis! Phew!! I know there is great excitement about basketball match in Gormastown, I hear eveyone is training hard. Thanks for your good wishes.
