Member5e is a good price, i have always cleaned my bins… something i got from my mother….. i look at my neighbours bins and they are manky and smelly, the poor bin men has to touch these so try to keep clean….
I nearly faint when i see people put things into bins without bags… ie loose rubbish!!!
I have a clean bin fettish, but have to admit with the snow and all they havent been done in week….
i have it down to a fine art, when cleaning if you open the lid then lie the bin down lid side, the lid props the bin up and much easier to clean, i use hte brush and the jeyes fluid water to wash the outside too and then hose down…… but not too much as i like the pine to stay on the bin…
A man comes around her with a van and has pressure washers on the back for doing binsJanuary 19, 2011 at 12:46 pm #108089scole1

i’ve done it myself too, once and never again! i got all the gunk out alright, but in the process got some of the spray off the powerhose on me 😥 😥 👿 so never ever again!
i’ll have a chat to him tomorrow and see what he can do for my 3 bins 🙂 sure atleast he’s trying to earn a living in this hard times and it’s not expensive so we’ll give it a go!!!

MemberMy dad is the best I’ve come across at this. He half fills(or less) the bin with water & has a self-made ‘gadget’ for scrubbing it. Now don’t laugh coz it is amazingly effective!! It is a toilet brush attached to the wooden handle of a sweeping brush. Basically, he scrubs it like you’d do a large toilet!!
I admire your man’s initiative in setting up a business like this – I just hope by the time all these damn tax cuts have revealed themselves that we can afford to reward his work ethic!

MemberWe have a garbage disposal/insinkerator so don’t really use the compost bin…I’d imagine that thing can get pretty gross…
But the idea of a clean garbage can still is such an oxymoron to me 😆
