MemberCould anyone up Balbriggen way see if PJs or somewhere could nominate one morning a week as a ‘Dad’s Morning’?
I don’t know the area at all, but it seems that some lads up that direction could do with an outlet
Poor fellas are coming all the way to Dundalk for a bit of male chat.
Any feedback would be nice!

KeymasterHey Pookie,
PJ’s have a parent & toddler get together every Wednesday morning @ 10.30am and it is for both mums & dads. I have seen plenty of dads at it so that would be ideal.
It is already a well established weekly get together and the staff are fantastic in PJ’s and interact with the children, which allows the parents to have a chat. There is a fab coffee area too with lots of space and numerous tables, sofas etc so the Dads can congregate around a certain area.
They offer a special deal too, free tea/coffee for parents once they pay for their child.

ParticipantMaybe the service station in Lusk ( other M1 one..)

KeymasterThe service stations are grand but the trouble with meeting there if you’re from Balbriggan area, is you have the drive all the way to Swords to turn around and get back on the motorway, so its a 20 mile round trip! I am from Balbriggan and was meeting a friend from Malahide there and it took me ages coming and going when we met there!
Anyone in Balbriggan, Skerries, Rush, Lusk, Stamullen, Gormanston etc areas would be quite close to PJ’s, its very central and just off the motorway with exits going both ways to it, so easily accessible from either direction!
How about making it on Wednesday mornings when there is a play group on?

KeymasterAs a Dad not living too far from Balbriggan, PJ’s is a perfect spot.
Parents can enjoy a tea or coffee, safe in the knowledge the kids are secure. The service station is fine but kids can run out the doors – that’s one of my favourite things about PJ’s, the kids can’t get out and of course as I get reminded each time…the Big Blue slide and go karts.

MemberHiya Mary,
Hear lots good about pjs.
Organised regular dad meet-up this end – small but successful. (see Louth thread – Dads Meet Up)
Feedback is that some dads not so comfortable when outnumbered by the ladies (ie most parent-toddler groups), so looking to nominate a specific morning / evening to attract men / cater for their interests a bit more, while watching costs. Free cuppa per paying child maybe? We supply free choc bikkies up here!!
Wil try and ring for a quick chat next week – if I
ever get this baby to sleep……April 3, 2011 at 9:44 am #111853Anonymous
InactiveMary from PJ’s is hoping to attend our get together inBagel Bar Drogheda Tuesday so we can have a chat about it then.
PJ’s has two seating areas, either side of the play area. Perhaps we could set the dads up on one side and make it their section on that morning?
We’ll come up with a plan of action this week – if you are free Thursday Pokie, we’ll be in Dundalk at Marshes so we can have a yap about it then too if that helps.
