InactiveJust wondering if anyone off anywhere nice this year? Love to hear about places to go on holidays….
We are heading to Tralee for a few days over the summer but no plans to go abroad this year. Would love to be able to go to Spain or somewhere like that but can’t do it this year so Kerry will have to do!
Anyone off anywhere nice?

ParticipantWe are having a staycation in Wexford. We stayed in the Ferrycarrig in Wexford last year and had a great time – so much so, we are going back.
This is a really fab family hotel – we got 5 nights b&b in a family room + kids clubs for only 550euro. We also get access to the pool and leisure club, The thing that really sold this place to me last year was that the kids club ran in the evening time from 5 until 10.30pm. The kids are signed in(4 and over but will take younger if a parent stays), can go have their dinner there and only leave when you sign them back out. So you can actually go and have an adult evening here and there if you feel like it.
We are also looking at 2 night in Cork. The Middleton Park does a great two night family deal which include tickets to Fota Island – a major attraction to our two.
We live in hope for the weather but we have the rain gear – just in case

Participantyeah sabbi it can be quiet expensive getting away alright – we’ve a family wedding in portugal next year and if we want to stay in usual apartments we stay in (where the wedding will be) as it’s high season i believe it’ll cost in region of € 2,200 just for the 4 of us to get there & accomadation so spending money on top of that (we’re saving big time)
My hubby is from Liverpool and we usually try to get over & see them but my sister in law is recovering from lung cancer so not staying with her – we decided in the end to combine a holiday with seeing them so booked a 4 bed apartment in Haven the one near Phewli – we booked it last yr so got an great early bird deal and we used our tesco points towards the ferry – so costing around € 650 for a week – one of my sil & her partner & 2 kids will spend 2days with us, then my other sil, hubby & fil will spend a few days with us – there is loads for the kids to do and they’ll get to see their cousins and relations into the bargain….i reckon i’ll be coming home for a break 😉 but i am really looking forward to it

MemberMunchin, keep an eye on http://www.lowcostholidays.ie, i saw some great deals to Portugal on it. We went end of May, 4 of us for two weeks for €1500, flights & apartment. I know thats not high season but the flights alone came to €1100 because we left it so late to book, if you book flights early enough you should get them cheaper. You can sign up for alerts on cheap flights to Portugal.

Participantthanks a million MaryE will have a look – there’s a wee bit of pressure for us to stay in the apartments where the wedding will be but the apartment alone will be approx € 750-845 but i’d be happy enough to stay apartments nearby – will have a look at the website – Thank you

MemberGosh munchin that is very expensive. Four of us are off to Portugal next month for under a thousand euro for a week. Just under 800 euro for flights and 200 for the apt on owners direct.co.uk. We have stayed in the same place for the last few years and love it . Perhaps look at that website for cheaper accommodation.

KeymasterCheck out these little cabin sized suitcases for kids from Playaway.com, they are so clever!! They are small so you don’t have to check them in and they are sturdy but also, quite light.
There is a little pull out section at the front of the case for books, DS’s Ipad’s, colouring books, games etc so if the kids want their activities, you do not have to rummage through bags or cases, you can pull out the front section and keep all their stuff together there for them.
So so clever, really good quality too, we have some here and the kids think they are the bees knees – http://www.playawaycase.com/shop/
