KeymasterWell, are we still a nation that ‘gives up’ things we love for Lent? I am preggers so thats me off alcohol and shellfish (which I am craving like a demon) so probably won’t give anything up this year.
Anyone giving up anything interesting??

MemberI haven’t decided if I am giving anything up yet!
Did think about drinking but I don’t drink that much anyway….
Sweets would be near impossible!
Might try and cut out bread as that would be very difficult for me!March 8, 2011 at 3:06 pm #110961nickysinglemum

Participanti am giving up giving out 😆
Tough one Nicky, do you think you’ll last?? 😆
Tempted to give up drink but think there might be an occasion during lent that could be awkward. I know I can do chocolates and sweets easy enough so may haveto lean towards those!

ParticipantI wondered if people really give up things
We had a discussion with this topic with my ds 12 and dd 9 – they told us they are the only ones giving up – Nobody else does it anymore
ds is giving up Biscuits , my dd will try that too, my dh is giving up sweets.. this for him will be diffcult.
I have decided to give up – Crisps , peanuts, Tayto etcWe will see how we last??

Participanti’m giving up chocolate which is going to be pretty tough but i’m going to give it my best shot!
DD is only 4 but thought we’d see how she gets on – prepare her for school next yr so we went for lolly pops – she can still have sweets just not lolly pops
dh is not catholic BUT as i’m giving up chocolate & dd lolly pops she decided daddy should give up biscuits 😆 😆 😆March 9, 2011 at 4:14 pm #111020trixiebell
Participantchocolate here! it will be hard, but ds is doing it, as he is learning about lent etc in school at moment as part of holy communion programme, so we will all help each other.
