The information about walkers is confusing – are they safe for 6 month old babies?

Is it ok if the baby’s feet are not touching the bottom of the walker?

I am not sure about them at all, I think I’d rather wait until babies are older before popping in there but maybe it is safe?

anyone got any feedback on them. thanks

    Hi Denise,

Yes I agree there are tons of conflicting reports on whether walkers are dangerous for children or can actually progress a child’s development.

Personally I would go with your gut and do what feels right for you. Maybe look into one that is stationary but adjustable so that your child can place their feet flat on the surface and go from there and as they get older/stronger maybe introduce the moveable walker then.

    Hope this helps.

I don’t like walkers at all – there are reports they can interfere with development in the hip areas. We never had them for our children – we did have a static play station that they all played in but it did not move and their feet were always on thebottom of it , so their legs were never dangling
