My Mil is minding my ds and cant get to the shops so asked me to buy her rosary beads to give to her grandson as a communion present.

I just got some in Easons on my lunch break, so was delighted with myself and phoned her to tell her.

They are blue rosary beads & came in a little set accompanied with a badge (i presumed it is a communion badge). Cost €4.99

She didnt sound overly impressed that i got them in Easons, as said you usually get them in religious shops (what is a religious shop & where do you find them?) & she asked if they are real rosary beads And was the badge definately a communion badge.

Im beginning to doubt myself now, so decided to ask you all – what does a communion badge look like?
Do all Catholic Rosary beads have jesus on the cross? Apart from the different colours/ materials – arent they all the same?

I know the little boy getting these will care less but my mil is very religious and this would mean a lot to her.

    Thanks.
