so anyone out there thought about allotments? i see in the leader they are arranging allotments in drogheda….

we have one with the fil hoping to get chickens in soon, just need to sort out the groundwork make sure they’re not eaten before we get eggs from them….have to say it’s been great going down, ds just loves it, we now have a shed up and all the area marked out and some plants and of course veg in, ds is dying for his pumpkins to grow for halloween, so we’ll see…. planning on having bbq’s in the summer plenty of room for the kids to have a run about… the alotments are on private land but a very reasonable price and thankfully 3 more allotments have been taken up, so the spirit of growing your own will be alive. i think some don’t understand what an allotment is and how to make the most of it…. it’s a great oppertunity to grow your own food and know where it comes from etc, but only for those who have the time…

    here’s to happy eating
