Dear Friends,
Last night was the first public meeting of AIMS Ireland’s North East Chapter.
AIMS Ireland is a voluntary, non-profit organisation which offers support and information services to women in relation to issues concerning pregnancy, labour/birth, and the post natal period. AIMS Ireland also conducts its own research, most recent being the AIMSI Consent and Availability of Information Report based on a 2007 survey of Irish women. AIMSI also acts as a lobby group for evidence based best practice and mother friendly policies for the maternity period. AIMSI consists of a National Committee and 4 regional Chapters to represent Irish women on local levels. AIMSI NorthEast serves women in North Dublin, Fingal, Meath, Louth, Cavan and Monaghan. Membership is extremely important to AIMSI and we are fortunate to have a large members-base consisting of a diverse background of consumers and health care professionals.
The First public meeting of AIMSI North East was last night, Monday, 14th of April at the City North Hotel.
9 women were in attendance and Caroline Rocliffe was elected Chairperson
Many topics were raised in relation to the 3 maternityunits within the AIMSI North East catchment; The Rotunda, OLOL Drogheda, & Cavan and also in relation to the DOMINO and home birth services to these regional areas.
The next AIMSI North East Meeting will be held on June 3rd, City North Hotel at 8:30pm
