My 2 yr old keeps hitting me every time he doesn’t get his own way. Most of the time he is a very loving child but lately he has been hitting me and his father quite a bit. Its like he does it for a reaction. Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so how should we deal with it?
my dd done this during the terrible 2s i brought out the naughty chair and other things it never works then i started taking her favourite toys away and hiding them untill she was good again (i had 5 boxes in my attic till she stopped) it took a few months but it worked she has not hit me since she is now 4 .
taking the toys is a good one alright
but what we did with dd1 was catch her hand as she’s going to hit and say ah ah be nice to mammy – then rub her hand on you if that makes sense – i can’t remember is she wasyounger than 2 at the time though.
DD2 does it occassionaly she’s 22months and that’s usually what we do
