Today after about 10 years, i have finally been diagnosed with High Blood pressure which means that i will on medication for life. I am only 34 so its unusual. For the last 7 years the said i had white coat syndrome, ie i was afraid of having my BP taken. However about 2 1/2 years ago i had chest pains and ended up in hospital, thought i was kicking the bucket, totally terrified. Thankfully it wasnt a stoke as i thought, but that i had pulled all of the muscels in my chest. While having test my BP was thru the roof and i finally had enough. It took me 2 years to get an appointment with a specialist unit in Beaumont.
So now mediaction for life, probably taking part in a research programme as i am soo young, imagine 34 is soo young   Feel totally fine about it, just finally glad a decision has been made.

OMG you got to the end of it, Thank God.
I know how stressed and frustrated you were for years and all the test you went through, then being told it was in your head or the stress of the commute.
I have a friend who from the age of 20 has suffered from Low bp, which is harder to control, high bp can be managed very easily.

noeleenw how is your dh? What did the hospital say was wrong with him? The fingers on my right hand go numb at night time, dont know if its the fact I sleep with my arm under my pillow…. did say it to the doctor and he just laughed as my bp is fine

they didnt seem too concerned as ecg showed ok !!! dh needed a wake up call as he gets very little exercise and is very fond of a few glasses of wine each evening . When we got to hosp he cudn’t breathe and the pins and needles worried us , but they where happy that he could go home after a few hours , i think he might have strained a muscle in his chest doing something on the farm as he went to gp on monday who gave him difene and a gel to rub on his chest. On a health roll now 😆 😆

Noleeen i have had to change my lifestyle to, doctor nearly collapsed when i said i drank a btl of wine on a saturday nite. I dont drink any other nite of the week but she said that 1 btl in 1 nite is unacceptable. So i have cut down, swotched to G&T’s 😆 😆 Also have had to lose weight another 1/2 stone the want me to loose, that will be a miracle. And also to stick to a good diet. I am really good, dont eat take aways, well maybe once a month. I make my own suits and breads, a right Jamie Oliver i am.
Hope your DH is ok, i had the ECG/ECHO and all sorts of test back in Oct. All fine and my Cholestorol is excellent. My body fat % was high but i have started to bring it down with exercise & diet. Is more the fright you get, i went to my GP the day after i ended up in hospital and demanded that he refer me to a specialist. I get pins & needles in my arms aswell not sure if its related

doc asked dh how much does he drink he lied , said one or 2 glasses twice a week and a bit more at weekends!! I am not drinking at the moment as i am pregnant so dh was drinking everynight on his own 🙁 🙁 He also loves tia maria 😆 which he would drink out of a pint glass with ice. His da died of a heart attack at 58 and he never drank or smoked. And his ma died of cancer at 48 and she never drank or smoked either so just goes to show.
