Our stay at Four Seasons Carlingford

I adore Carlingford, it is such a beautiful part of the country. There’s lots to do, from Skypark to Carlingford Ferry across the Lough. Dundalk is great for shopping and is only 20 mins away and Newry, is 20 mins the other way. Carlingford is a beautiful little fishing village with tonnes of charm. From the fairy & leprechaun trail….to the coffee shop that has tea pots hanging from the ceiling and walls….to the gorgeous community gardens….to the quirky craft shops…..historic castle…. and the fab little shop we found with the most gorgeous shoes & handbags. It is a beautiful spot and perfect for family breaks at Four Seasons Hotel & Spa Carlingford

We stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel & Spa Carlingford, which is a 3 min walk from the village, so no need to drive around, you can easily walk from the hotel to all the fab little places to be found around the village.

After a day of exploring, we headed back to the hotel and while my husband took our 4 children to the pool, I went off to the Luxe Spa and had a very pampering full body massage. After my massage I was brought into the relexation room for a tray with peppermint tea, chocolate, dried fruit (the bananas were amazing!) and fresh fruit. It was utterly relaxing. I then went into the Sauna for the infrared chairs, which help with muscle recovery. These are incredible, I would highly recommend giving them a try!

Later, after massages and swimming, we were all famished and headed down for dinner. We had fresh fish, sticky chicken wings, roast chicken, champ mash and for dessert, the brownies with candied popcorn and ice-cream and the salted caramel & passionfruit tart (this is a must have, it’s delicious!). We had a drink in the bar after dinner – they offer a table service for Covid safety, so we felt comfortable and safe.

We all slept great – probably the massages and swimming – and headed down for breakfast. Again, the hotel is making every effort to keep customers safe and so they have a system when they put the food you want on a plate and pass it to you. They bring tea/coffee to the table too, to keep us all safe.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Four Seasons Carlingford – so much so, that I am planning to go back soon for a night away with the girls for some Christmas shopping and definitely a trip to the Luxe spa!!

Highly recommend, you can check out their offers here and for inquiries, contact them here!
