Toothpaste for Children

Introducing the Spotlight Oral Care Toothpaste for Children, launching today. The gentle toothpaste, designed by dentist sisters Dr. Lisa and Dr. Vanessa Creaven, is suitable for children aged between 2-7 years. As dentists, they are aware that when introducing brushing into a child’s routine, parents are confronted with a minefield of contradicting information but the one essential starting point is finding a safe and effective toothpaste to use. Spotlight Oral Care have simplified the quandary by developing the perfect children’s toothpaste, made with active and harm-free ingredients.

The toothpaste tube is 100% recyclable as it is made from a by-product of sugarcane; a victory in the plastic-heavy dental industry, Spotlight Oral Care continue to be the market leaders in sustainable dentistry. Most mainstream toothpaste brands are made of the worst type of plastic and are not easily broken down so end up in landfills for years to come. The Spotlight Oral Care Toothpaste for Children can easily be cleaned out after use and the empty tube can be recycled with your household plastics. The products are also cruelty-free, palm oil free, vegan-friendly and ocean safe.

Dr. Vanessa Creaven comments, “We are so excited to finally launch our toothpaste for kids. It was really important to us to create a product that has a positive impact on your child’s oral and overall health but that also was in line with our brand ethos to develop products that are not impactful on the environment around us. When your kids use our toothpaste, you can rest assured that it contains the clinical active ingredients that are essential for their health while having an appealing taste for their little taste buds and that it’s 100% recyclable.”

As dentists, the Creaven sisters were insistent that their toothpastes would contain the active ingredient Fluoride as it helps to prevent tooth decayFluoride prevents bacteria from attacking the tooth and causing potential cavities and it also strengthens enamel and ensures gentle cleaning.

Dr Lisa Creaven comments, “Dental decay is a very common issue in children so it was very important that we included fluoride. We have also taken the time to ensure that our toothpastes are free from triclosan, SLS, DEA, propylene glycol, parabens, sulphates and are vegan friendly and 100% recyclable. The lining of our mouth is one of the most absorbent areas of our body so choosing clean oral care products really matters.”

The Toothpaste for Children also contains the ingredient Sodium Monofluorophosphate, which acts as a source of Sodium Fluoride and has less of an after-taste than Sodium Fluoride. It is more suitable for children who might find a more intense tasting toothpaste off-putting. The mild mint flavour will not overwhelm little taste buds!
