Visit Drogheda on 16-17th June for the fabulous, family-friendly Irish Maritime Festival. For 2 days every summer, Drogheda’s busy working Port is converted into a family fun-zone. Enjoy the Parade of Sail on Friday at noon when all of the visiting vessels sail into Drogheda together.
On Saturday and Sunday climb aboard and explore the majestic Tall Ships and visiting French naval vessels.
Visit the Maritime Discovery Zone with the Irish Coastguard, RNLI, boat displays, Inland Waterways and Seastainablity.
Build a sandcastle or dig for archaeological treasures in The Sand Shanty. Take a spin in the teacups in Finn MacCool’s Fairground.
Cheer on the brave swimmers as they take on the 2.7km long Boyne Swim. Admire the beautiful Water Wags as they sail up the Boyne to Oldbridge and watch out for the yachts racing in from Howth.
Listen to live music on the Ballast Quay Stage. Catch “Fleadh Fever” at the trad music stage.
Enjoy a Taste of Ireland’s Ancient East with the cookery demos and tastings from local food producers.
It’s a super-sized maritime adventure for all ages.
